Event Information
The Austin Runners Club hosts its Annual Decker Challenge. This famously hilly race will be held at beautiful Decker Lake. This challenging course is always a favorite in the Austin winter racing calendar because of the rural scenery, comfortable start and finish area, hilly course route, great value and high-quality long-sleeved technical fabric race shirts.
This year the course will once again provide a half marathon route with the DOUBLE Decker providing a full marathon!

Race fees are as follows (and include online processing costs--so no "hidden fees"):
Decker Challenge Half Marathon: $50 through 9/1, $65 through 12/1, $75 through 12/10 and $85 race day
DOUBLE Decker Marathon: $70 through 9/1, $85 through 12/1, $95 through 12/10 and $105 race day
ARC members get a $10 discount. See the members only message board for the discount code.
Do you prefer paper and snail mail? No problem. Complete and mail in your registration using this form.
Registration Cap
Due to rapid growth, the Decker Challenge and Double Decker has instituted a cap on the number of registrants. This decision has been made in order to assure the quality of participant experience. Once the cap is hit, registration will be closed. Slots are still open, but register soon to assure yourself a spot! Check our Facebook page for updates on how many slots are left
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available at Rogue Running, 500 San Marcos, Austin TX 78702 during the following hours:
Friday, December 9th: 11:00 AM tto 7:00 PM
Saturday, December 10th: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Race Day packet pickup is available at the Travis County Expo Center, 7311 Decker Lane, Austin, TX during the following hours:
Sunday, December 11th: 6:30 AM until 15 minutes prior to race start (7:15 AM for Double, 7:45 AM for Half)
Race Shirt
As usual we'll have a great long sleeve technical running shirt for all registered runners and we will distribute those to you when you pick up your race packet. Since we have to order shirts well in advance of race day, the amount ordered for each size probably won't match the final actual number of requests. We distribute shirts on a first come first served basis, so the earlier you pick up your race packet, the greater the likelihood you will receive the size requested.
Volunteering
All great races need great volunteers. We can use your help before and during the race for a variety of roles. Let us know what you want to do and we can make it happen! Contact volunteer@austinrunners.org and we can work it out!
Do you want to help shape the race? The Decker race committee is open to anyone! You don't have to have experience, just a good attitude and idea about that makes races fun. Contact president@austinrunners.org to learn more.
Race Date and Time
The races will begin at:
Double Decker Marathon start: 7:30AM
Double Decker Marathon course time limit: 4.5 hours. Runners must be able to complete the Marathon course by 12:00 PM (noon).
Decker Half start: 8:00 AM

Water Stops
The Decker Challenge and the Austin Runners Club would like to thank Nuun for providing sports drink for our water stops. There are six water stops on the Decker Challenge course, each of which will have the following fluids:
Mile 2- water and Nuun
Mile 4- water
Mile 6- water and Nuun
Mile 8.5- water
Mile 10- water and Nuun
Mile 11.5- water
The water stop at Mile 2 will also have a clothes drop. Clothing dropped there will be available back at the Start/Finish upon completion of your race.

Massage Therapy
